The Machine Project was this space in LA that sadly died in 2018. It looks absolutely amazing though and I’m still searching for a place even vaguely like it on the East Coast. Here’s a poster titled What is the Machine Project? 1

Another favorite: check out the Alvarado Caverns and Mystery Theater thing that ran there. Anyway, I’m super sad that it’s closed down now.
