I heard about this on 99% Invisible’s episode “The Smell of Concrete After Rain” (which also included a discussion of Boston’s City Hall and changed my perspective on brutalist architecture – a label which notably is unrelated to the word “brutal”) and really love it. This is a project I really really really love. They took pictures of New York City landmarks and comped them into other landscapes, and then wrote stories about them. It’s incredibly well done, gorgeous, and makes me so so happy. I even love the illustrations they’ve done for the index at the bottom of the page. And all of it is presented on a beautiful and incredibly thematic website. It’s perfect....
